Short History of Bangladesh Shishu AcademyBangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) also known as Bangladesh Children Academy was established in 1976. It has branches in all the 64 districts of Bangladesh. The main activity of the Shishu Academy revolves around developing creativity and potentials of the children. In 1994 the Government of Bangladesh declared the National Children Policy to preserve the rights, interests and welfare of the children. The National Council for Children which is headed by the Minister of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, is responsible for providing guidance in formulation of overall policies and implementing the National Children Policy. 2001-2010 has been declared as the Children Decade for giving utmost priority to child rights. A National Action Plan (1997-2002) for children has been formulated. |
